The name Caran d’Ache comes from the Russian “karandash”, meaning pencil. The company’s history goes back to 1915 when the first factory for pencils was built in Geneva, Switzerland. Caran d’Ache stands for quality and manufactures some of the best colour pencils in the world, as well as a broad range of ballpoint pens, lead holders and propelling pencils in fantastic quality and design.
